Wedgwood -Lynn- Imperial Porcelain - Serving Bowl w/Lid

Description

This listing is for a large antique oval serving bowl with lid manufactured by Wedgwood & Co. in England.  This bowl is in a version of the "Lynn" pattern and has beautiful raised areas and swirls in the ceramic handles.  It also says "Imperial Porcelain" on the backstamp as seen in the third picture.  The pattern and cobalt blue are strong and show almost no signs of fading or wearing.  There is a heavy loss of the gold highlights on the handle of the lid as seen in the pictures.  The gold highlights on the handles of the bowl show a minimal to moderate loss.  There is no visable loss of gold on the rest of the piece including the rings that frame the cobalt blue.
The bowl and lid are in excellent condition for their age.  Ther are no chips, cracks, or scratches.  The pattern is strong and the glaze still shines nicely.  There is a general, but very light and uniform crazing across both pieces.  There is no darkness or staining in the crazing on the pieces, so the piece still shows very well.
The bowl measures about 13 inches across on the long side including the handles and about 6 inches across on the short side.  It is about 5 inches tall including the lid.
This is a beautiful example of antique Wedgwood Imperial Porcelain.
