Vintage VIETRI Majolica Roast Pig Soup Tureen w/ Platter & Ladle Made in Italy
Condition:
This is a stunning, vintage Roast Pig Soup Tureen made in Italy.  I believe Vietri is the maker.  It includes the tureen, lid, soup ladle, and platter.  It has a French Market look with a wreath of fruit adorning the neck of the pig, the ends of the platter and an apple on top.  It has a high gloss, majolica finish with hand painted details.  The platter measures 19" long x 12.5" wide x 0.75" tall.  The soup tureen measures 16.5" long x 9" tall x 8" wide.  It has a 4-quart capacity.  The total weight is 7 lb.  It is in very good, vintage condition.  There is one major chip on the backside of the lid that is visible, but it is on the white part of the pig and does not stand out terribly.  There is a minor glaze chip on the apple leaf on the top of the lid and a few minor fleabite chips along the edge of the lid.  There is some minor crazing on the platter, but the interior of the tureen appears to be in excellent, almost new condition.  There are no cracks.  Please see photos for specifics on the condition.
