Description
Theodore Haviland Limoges France Soup Tureen. There is much history regarding this antique Soup tureen. In 1842 David Haviland started in the Limoges China Business and it continued with his sons Theodore and Charles Haviland. Theodore went on to open an American division in 1936. The firm remained family owned through 1981. I believe this particular tureen was produced sometime after1936, because Theodore Haviland is marked on this tureen. It is a very pretty piece with soft coloring. There is the ivory with light blue flowers all throughout the outer area as well as inside too. There are areas of gold as seen in the pictures and there is a touch of gloss . This is a special piece and I’ve inspected it closely. There are no cracks nor chips. Its obvious this was lovingly cared for because it is in excellent shape especially considering it’s likely 70-80 years old 🤷🏻♀️. If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me. I purchased it at a Estate auction.
