The General SG12E Surface Grinder was designed for use by both seasoned contractors and DIY homeowners alike. And unlike many similar sized machines, it operates from and readily available 15 ampere, 115 VAC, single phase power source that can be found on almost every jobsite. The operator handle quickly folds making it easier to transport in today's smaller SUV vehicles. Handle height is adjustable to better reduce operator back strain. The exclusive Quick-Stop motor switch stops the unit when the handle grip is released to enhance operator safety and control. A 37 foot extension cord complete with integral GFI is standard equipment to help address less than favorable jobsite conditions.
The SG12E accommodates a wide range of industry-standard, interchangeable attachments including Legacy Series grinding stones, scarifiers, the Screper-Tach Coatings Removal System, the Diam-A-Tach Diamond Grinding System and Pro Polish Concrete Floor Polishing System for unmatched versatility and productivity.
Powered by a totally enclosed, fan-cooled 1.5-horsepower electric motor, the SG12E features a single rotating disc with a 12-inch-wide working width. Offering a top disc rotation speed of 250 rpm, applications for the SG12E include grinding concrete surfaces, removing mastics, adhesives, epoxies and urethanes, breaking up deposits of grease and dirt, removing rubber carpet backing and industrial residues, and polishing more delicate terrazzo and marble floor surfaces.
