ANTIQUE MASONS PATENT IRONSTONE RECTANGLE PLATTER IMARI FLOWER 1813-30'S.
I looked and looked, but I could not find a Masons Ironstone platter similar to this one. I could find the date of the impressed mark,
1813-1820. I saw designs similar, Imari. But I couldn’t find this shape and contour platter. The handles are raised leaves and vines in a light ivory. The Imari flowers are red and blue. The outside edge is scalloped. There is some wear to the paint.
There are 3 issues I’d like to point out. There is a small chip to the bottom foot, please see picture #10.
Please see pictures #11 and 12. Each picture shows a small crack. It doesn’t appear that the piece was damaged, it looks like an age crack.
This is a very special early Masons Ironstone Platter.
It is approx 11” x 7.5”.
