Exceptional Original Vintage Mid-20th Century Nils Thorsson tray for Royal Copenhagen Denmark from "Fajance" range of the BACA line featuring exceptional original artwork from approximately c.1970.
We are offering this exceptional Mid-Century original art pottery tray by designer Nils Thorsson for the Royal Copenhagen Denmark "Fajance" range of BACA line dating to c.1970. Designer Nils Thorsson was the avant-garde leader of Aluminia and later Royal Copenhagen Denmark. He pioneered glazing techniques that are amongst the most recognizable and beautiful of the period. This striking tray features a tactile glaze in blue with white, brown, peach and rose featuring a whimsically illustrated and stylized bird motif that is amongst his finest and most sought-after by collectors. The tray measures approximately: 4.25" length by 4.25" width by 1" depth. The tray is in pristine condition (near mint). There are no damages or defects. This piece is marked to the base: "708/2882" and "Fajance" with the Royal Copenhagen Denmark hallmark. Good luck to all bidders. Actual item for auction. Table used for display is not for sale.
