This 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is beautifully preserved, well-documented '59 Cadillac with great options and a lovely special order interior. Perhaps no car is more of an icon than a 1959 Cadillac. While Cadillac's last body style in the 1950s retained the look of a Cadillac, the 1959 models were vastly updated. Gone were the antiquated "Dagmar" bumpers, replaced with a new design that sat lower on the cars and featured integrated driving lights and turn signals in oval-shaped pods. The hoods extended to the fender crowns that aligned with the chrome trim that extended down the belt line of the car. A new distinctive bullet-style grille that runs between the headlights had that classic Cadillac "egg-crate" flavor but with a more modern twist. Of course, the most significant update to the 1959 Cadillac occurred to the rear quarters and rear-end treatment with the addition of a pair of massive tail fins on each side that were both accented by a pair of "bullet-style" taillights in each fin. The '59 Cadillac rear-ends also featured a faux grille that matched the bullet-style of the grille up front. The interiors of the 1959 Cadillacs were no slouch either, exuding luxury in every facet. The upholstery was plush and roomy, the dashes were extravagant and ornate, and the options were plentiful and largely ahead of their time. The Series 62 Convertible was the entry-level convertible for Cadillac in 1959, and comparatively speaking, they were comparatively significantly more affordable than to top-tier Eldorado Biarritz and thus the Series 62s outsold the Biarritz by nearly tenfold. This particular Series 62 Convertible was sold new in Florida and comes to us with extensive historical documentation. Under the hood on this 1959 Cadillac Convertible is a numbers matching 390 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 325 horsepower when new. The 390 V8 is mated to a Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission that ensures that anybody can easily take this classic Cadillac for a spin around the block. Exhaust exits the matching numbers 390 via a dual exhaust setup that gives this convertible a nice throaty sound. Being that this is a Cadillac, it comes loaded with options rarely seen on 50s cruisers. With Power Steering, maneuvering this iconic '59 Cadillac is a breeze and the steering wheel feels as if you can turn it with one finger. Power brakes make bringing this Series 62 to a full stop much easier especially considering it weighs over 4,800 pounds. The white vinyl power convertible top is in fantastic condition as well and goes up and down with the simple flick of a switch. The exterior on this 1959 Series 62 Convertible is correctly finished in Dover White, just how it was ordered back in June of 1959. A set of extra wide whitewall tires with Eldorado full wheelcovers give this Cadillac some truly classic curb appeal and completes the exterior look of the car. The special order interior on this Series 62 is fantastic! The front and rear bench seat, along with the front center arm rest and door panels are upholstered in the correct special order Red and White Leather, which is in great condition. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel are all in wonderful condition and appear to be in their stock configuration. The interior is also loaded with options such as power windows, power door locks and a power seat, adding to the luxurious feel of this Series 62. With factory air conditioning, you'll be able so stay cool even on the hottest summer days in this Cadillac Convertible. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, fuel gauge, clock and push button AM radio. Whether you're buying your first classic car or you're adding to your existing Cadillac collection this 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible would make an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
